Be The Light Run/Walk

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. It is a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, those who have struggled with suicidal ideation, and to acknowledge the individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted. Throughout the month mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness and share messages of hope.

In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, the Monroe County Suicide Prevention Task Force will be holding our second annual “Be The Light Run/Walk” event on Saturday, September 6 at Winnebago Park, 1020 Brandon Street in Tomah. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health and to let people know they’re not alone by promoting a sense of community as family, friends, neighbors, and community members run/walk alongside each other.
