Current Classes

UW-Madison Extension is offering another round of FREE virtual StrongBodies exercise classes for participants on a Zoom platform starting January 23 – March 29, 2023. Exercise in your own home and build or maintain your strength with exercises that are low impact and adaptable for ALL ability levels. Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. or on Tuesday and Thursdays at 9 a.m. See details below.

What you will need for class:
♦ Computer or smart phone
♦ Chair
♦ Water bottle
♦ Hand weights (if you have them)
♦ Ankle weights (if you have them)

Class Times:  Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. (60-minute class plus 20-minute optional education/socialization)

StrongBodies/StrongWomen™ is an evidence-based strength training program for middle-aged and older women. The program’s objective is to improve the health and well-being of middle-aged and older women.

What are the Benefits of StrongBodiesTraining?

The benefits of strength training for older women have been studied extensively and include:

  • Increased muscle mass and strength
  • Improved balance
  • Improved bone density and reduced risk for osteoporosis and related fractures
  • Reduced risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression, and obesity
  • Improved self-confidence, sleep and vitality
